The Role

The Social Media Manager for our hospitality group plays a crucial role in driving our brand’s presence and engagement across various social media platforms. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, this role entails developing and executing social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, foster community engagement, and drive customer acquisition and retention.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with the overall marketing objectives and brand identity.
  • Content Creation: Create and edit engaging content (including visuals, videos, and written copy) optimised for each social media platform that resonates with our brand’s audience. From capturing on-the-go moments to editing and posting next-day content, you’ll ensure our social presence is always fresh and exciting.
  • Event Coverage: Exciting opportunities to attend and cover events, capturing compelling content for immediate posting and resharing in a timely fashion. Your flexibility with working hours will be key in capturing authentic moments that amplify our brand’s story.
  • Content Management: Manage content calendars for multiple Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn accounts. Coordinate with photographers and videographers to secure imagery and footage that aligns with scheduled content needs.
  • Community Engagement: Foster a vibrant online community by responding to comments, messages, and interacting with followers. Keep a finger on the pulse of audience sentiment and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Track performance metrics across platforms, providing weekly reports on reach, engagement, and campaign effectiveness. Utilise insights to optimise content and boost posts effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, creative, and teams to align social media strategies with overall brand objectives. Embrace the brand’s vision and values to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across all channels.
  • Budget Management: Work closely with the Head of Marketing to manage the social media budget, including paid advertising campaigns and sponsored content partnerships.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Tertiary education in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in social media management with a strong portfolio showcasing successful TikTok and Instagram campaigns.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing social media strategies that drive engagement, growth, and ROI.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, and/or Final Cut Pro for editing videos quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and engaging online audiences.
  • Experience with social media advertising and budget management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms.
