We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager – Commercial Marketing to lead our marketing team and drive exceptional results across our diverse portfolio. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strategic blend of digital expertise and experience in a high-paced, high-volume environment.

As General Manager – Commercial Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing marketing strategies that will drive revenue growth, enhance brand visibility and optimise customer engagement across the portfolio.  You will be responsible for maximising website performance, strengthening SEO strategies, and leading data-led CRM efforts to deepen guest loyalty and increase direct bookings.

The Business Units you will be working with are: Doltone House Events / Doltone Hospitality Services / Retail and Tourism / Doltone Defence Services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute media buying strategies across digital and traditional channels to drive strong ROI
  • Optimise SEO to improve search rankings and organic traffic for all venues and brands
  • Lead strategy for digital performance channels, including paid search, programmatic, social media and display ads
  • Oversee website and eCommerce platform management, focusing on user experience and conversion rate improvements
  • Integrate and enhance platforms like Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and marketing automation tools
  • Drive CRM and guest engagement strategies, segmenting data for personalised campaigns that boost retention and revenue
  • Collaborate with leadership to align visitation and engagement strategies with commercial and brand goals    Provide digital marketing expertise to shape strategy, campaign development, and execution
  • Manage budgets, ensuring financial accuracy and alignment with business goals

Technical Expertise & Skills

  • Deep expertise in media planning and buying, with a focus on data-driven attribution models.
  • Proven track record in performance marketing, including paid search, SEO, social media advertising, and display networks.
  • Strong understanding of digital booking pathways for hospitality and event spaces, with experience optimising direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales strategies.
  • Commercially savvy, with the ability to connect marketing investments to business growth and profitability.
  • Highly analytical, leveraging customer insights and performance data to inform marketing decisions.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working across teams to drive business impact.
  • Advanced digital and analytical literacy, with a keen ability to challenge data and extract meaningful insights.
  • Inspirational leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, high-volume environments while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, privacy laws, and marketing compliance.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a digital specialist and 5 years’ experience managing a high performing team
  • University qualifications in marketing and/or digital marketing
  • Extensive experience collaborating with media agencies to drive marketing success
  • Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, high-volume environments while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including privacy laws, marketing compliance, workplace health & safety, and relevant industry legislation
  • Experience in the traditional accommodation or hotel industry
  • Advanced skills in SEO, paid search, programmatic advertising, and social media.
